Squad 537 of New London was formed in 1993. We are chartered members of the National Sons of The American Legion. Squad 537 conducts a number of fund raising events during the year, consisting of meat raffles, and omelet breakfasts. As a non profit organization, the majority of the money from these events is used within our community. As part of the State and National Organization we have donated to projects such as the Child Welfare fund and the Silver Bay Veterans home. We assist our Legion Post as flag bearers on Memorial Day, and help with road ditch pickups, et. Our members range in age from grade school to retirement age, and reside not only locally, but in several different states. We also plan several social events during the year, picnics, and dinners at our Post. All members are encouraged to attend our meetings.
